About The Author
Gerard McCann is a Senior Lecturer in European Studies and Geography at St Mary's University College (Queen's University, Belfast). He is Director of the Global Dimension in Education project and coordinates partnership initiatives with colleges in Africa and the Middle East. He has written extensively on the European Union's development and education policies.
Stephen McCloskey is the Director of the Centre for Global Education, Belfast. His publications include Development Reader: An Introduction to International Development Issues (2008), and The East Timor Question: The Struggle for Independence from Indonesia, (2000), co-edited with Paul Hainsworth.
