Chomsky is universally regarded as one of the most brilliant writers

Structures (1957) radically changed accepted views on language -

injustice and inequality in all its forms has made him a key figure
for the anti-capitalist and anti-globalization movements. He is
perhaps the world's leading critic of US imperialism. He is
Institute Professor in the Department of Linguistics and Philosophy
at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
