Dan Hicks

Dan Hicks author of The Brutish Museums: The Benin Bronzes, Colonial Violence and Cultural Restitution, will be joined by Onyekachi Wambu, Diya Gupta and Chris Garrard to talk about the book and campaigning for the return of African culture, anti-colonialism and anti-racism in other kinds of history-making institutions and and joining the dots between extractivist colonialism in the late Victorian age and museums’ relationships with oil companies today.
