Feminism, Interrupted: Disrupting Power by Lola Olufemi: More and more we see radical causes around us being co-opted far from their original meaning. As far as Lola Olufemi is concerned, feminism is one such cause that needs to return to its radical roots. In Feminism, Interrupted she explores state violence against women, the fight for reproductive justice, transmisogyny and gendered Islamophobia, as well as solidarity between feminist struggles around the world. This exciting work demonstrates once and for all that change is possible—as long as we realise that the work of feminism doesn’t lie solely at women’s feet.

Lola Olufemi is a black feminist writer and organiser from London. She facilitates workshops on feminism and histories of political organising in schools, universities and local communities.

Split: Class Divides Uncovered by Ben Tippet: Events in recent years have arguably revealed a society far more fractured than we thought, and nowhere is this more visible than in the country’s class divides. Ben Tippet seeks to re-address these causes, presenting them as more economic than cultural in nature. A macro-level analysis of inequality—travelling from zero-hour labour to inescapable debt; from the housing crisis to climate change; from prisons as commerce to the remains of our welfare state—his book is a prescient bulldozer to the idea of meritocracy.Ben Tippet is an educator, activist, and writer. He is currently doing a PhD at the University of Greenwich, researching the causes of wealth inequality in the UK. He is a researcher for The Transnational Institute and has written for Novara and Strike!
