Curious Fox, Lausitzer Platz 17, 10997 Berlin
Reading & Walking Tour of Lausitzer Platz, with Nathaniel Flakin, Author of "Revolutionary Berlin".
Few European cities can boast a history as storied and tumultuous as that of Berlin. It has been bombed, rebuilt and carved in two. In REVOLUTIONARY BERLIN, veteran tour guide Nathaniel Flakin invites you to stand in the places where this history was written, and to follow in the footsteps of those who helped write it.
In this outdoor reading / mini tour, Nathaniel Flakin will talk about revolutionary history that took place right around Curious Fox on Lausitzer Platz in Kreuzberg. This will include: the Neighbourhood Uprising of May 1, 1987; the supermarket that got burned down; squatted buildings; Herr Lehmann; and recent fights against gentrification.
The event is outside and in English. It will last 60 minutes. There will be the opportunity to have your copy of REVOLUTIONARY BERLIN signed.
