Digital Barricades

Digital cultures connect people and open up possibilities for social and political transformation, but they also place people under surveillance and allow their lives to be mined for advertising and other forms of control. These books show the digital world as a space of political contestation and division, where barricades are drawn up to enclose and monetise our creativity and free labour, but also to defend liberated space. The series editors are: Jodi Dean, Professor of Political Science at Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Geneva and New York // Joss Hands, Senior Lecturer in Media and Cultural Studies at Newcastle University // Tim Jordan, Professor of Digital Cultures at the University of Sussex.
