Glasgow launch to mark the release of Ben’s new book Cracks in the Wall.
Ben White‘s new book Cracks in the Wall: Beyond Apartheid in Palestine/Israel is full of sharp analysis and insight. Newcastle Palestine Solidarity Campaign is working with Pluto Press, the publisher, and Northumbria University Friends of Palestine to bring the author to Newcastle.
After decades of occupation and colonisation, the situation on the ground can only be described as a system of apartheid. Yet, while the situation is in many ways bleak, Ben White argues that there are cracks in Israel’s traditional pillars of support. Meanwhile, support for the global call for boycott, divestment and sanctions is growing, prompting a desperate backlash from Israel and its allies.
Ben White says that now is the time to plot a way forward beyond apartheid in Palestine. The solution is not partition and ethnic cleansing, but equality and self determination for all.
Ben White is a journalist and analyst who has been visiting and writing about Palestine for over a decade. His articles have been published in the Guardian, the Independent and elsewhere. He is the author of ‘Israeli Apartheid: a beginner‘s guide’ and ‘Palestinians in Israel: Segregation, Discrimination and Democracy’.
