Join the author of 'One State: The Only Democratic Future for Palestine-Israel', Ghada Karmi, who will be in conversation with rapper and activist, Lowkey.
At P21 Gallery, Ghada Karmi will be in conversation with Lowkey about her book One State. The event will start with screening of A Curious Place to be, a film which reflects on Karmi’s arrival to the UK after being ethnically cleansed from Jerusalem during the Nakba of 1948.
Ghada identifies her trauma as a refugee and how it has led her to be a life-long activist for Palestine, both in setting up the original ‘Palestine Action’ and in her writing and political thinking. In One State, she sets out her compelling argument for a single state in Palestine-Israel.
Ghada Karmi is a Palestinian physician, academic and writer. Her previous books have included her acclaimed memoir, In Search of Fatima and a second memoir, Return.
Lowkey is a prominent British-Iraqi hip hop artist, academic and campaigner for justice. He has performed on numerous platforms, and his latest album, Soundtrack to the Struggle 2, has been streamed by millions.
